Sarah is a jeweller and researcher based in Manchester. She trained at Loughborough College of Art and Design and received her Ph.D. in laser processing from The University of Manchester's School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering. This was a highly innovative project that introduced new dialogues between art practice and scientific engineering, which led to several publications dedicated to the benefits cross-disciplinary research.
During her time as course leader of the Jewellery and Object programme at the University of Lincoln she created a new space for imaginative practice, the Maker Lab, where she encouraged diverse disciplines to use the studios for the cross-pollination of materials knowledge, ideas and inspiration. She continues to work as a jeweller and curator with a particular interest in delivering research information to new audiences and in enabling others to realise their own ideas and designs.
